What is the Backcountry Returns policy

When you buy something from Backcountry, you have one year to return it. That’s our Backcountry Returns policy in a nutshell, but there are a few things to keep in mind before you start packing up your return. First, we only accept returns that are in new, unused condition with all the original tags attached. If something you bought is defective, please reach out to our Customer Support team at 1-800-409-4502 so they can help get you set up with a warranty replacement. And finally, make sure to include a note in your return with your order number and the reason for the return so we can process it as quickly as possible.

How do I return an item to Backcountry

If you’re not satisfied with an item you purchased from us, we’re here to help. You can return most items within 30 days of purchase for a full refund of the product price. Shipping charges are non-refundable. Please note that all returns must be in new, unused, and unaltered condition with all original tags and packaging attached. The following items are returnable only if defective OR still in unopened boxes: undergarments, swimwear, and wetsuits. Defective items will be replaced with a like item. If the replacement item is out of stock, you will receive a full refund of the purchase price. All returns require a Return Authorization (RA) number that can be obtained by logging into your account and clicking on “Return an Item” next to the order you wish to return, or by calling Customer Service at 888-663-1570. Once you have obtained an RA number, please write it clearly on the outside of the box and include a copy of your original packing slip. We recommend that you use UPS or FedEx for your return as we are not responsible for lost shipments. Shipping charges are non-refundable.

What is the Backcountry Return Center

The Backcountry Return Center is a place where people can return lost or unwanted items from the backcountry. The center is located in the town of Jackson, Wyoming. There are a few items that are ineligible for return to Backcountry. Items that have been used, damaged, or missing parts are not able to be returned. If an item is returned that is not in the original packaging, a 20% restocking fee will be applied. Additionally, gift cards and final sale items are not eligible for return.

In short, no. Backcountry does not pay for return shipping. There are a few reasons for this policy, the main one being that it would be incredibly expensive for the company to do so.
